There were penguins at the event!

A pic from kinda far away from the stage when they brought in the penguins. They zoo guy was very long-winded, and boring. He yammered on for about 45 minutes, when he should have kept it under 10 minutes. The penguins were cool, though. I liked the noises they made, and I liked it when they kept trying to bite him!

A bunch of networking gear

Some more pics from my phone

Michelle playing the keyboard, Jaidyn being messy with peanut butter, and Vannah, mom, and dad at Northfield Park for her birthday. She loves the horses!

I think they are worth posting!

Location

A map showing our exact location. It can show all the main roads, and state routes. Enough detail for what I use the unit for. Atlanta airport was in the GPSR, so I did a "goto", and knew exactly how far away from it we were. My location is the little triangle in the middle of the screen pointing Southwest.

Altitude

This shows the altitude we were cruising at. We stayed at about 29,000 feet the whole flight. This was a smaller jet, with only about 5'10" of headroom inside, but I don't know its cruising altitude.

It was really cool to be able to know exactly where we were, how fast we were cruising, how high we were flying, and the names of all the rivers/towns/roads we were flying over. Most airlines allow GPS devices on board, but some don't. Michelle's didn't (Air Tran).

Flying to Atlanta with my GPS

Look at the speed. This was fun!

I took my GPS receiver on my flight to Denver. It would only work if I held it right next to the window, so my arm got a little tired from holding it.

Take a look at the speed of the aircraft. It held around 490MPH the whole time we were cruising at altitude. On the decent into Atlanta, we got to about 530MPH at times, and as slow as 370MPH. It was just like I was sitting in the cockpit looking at the gauges.
